Hodges also founded SwingPals, a non-profit organization that uses mentoring in the classroom, on the golf course and in the community to teach students core values of being present, trusting, building confidence, self-esteem and finding clarity, so they grow to their potential.

Hodges was a Big Brother through Big Brothers Big Sisters for 15 years and served on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle. He lives in North Raleigh with his wife Kathy and his sons, Grayson and Ben.
