At this point, no one can deny the juggernaut which Callaway Golf has become when it comes to irons, particularlyApex. To think of what that lineup has become ten years after its inception is pretty mind boggling if we are being honest. While there are CB’s, MB’s, Pro’s, and the trio of irons which make up the recent Performance Series of irons, there have been glimpses and whispers of one more Apex design which has tickled the imaginations of a group of the player’s iron addicts out there.
Yes, they are real. Yes, they are being released, but not in the typical fashion.

Callaway Apex TCB Irons
Ever since the latest iteration of the Apex TCB irons were spotted on Tour in the bag of Xander Schauffele, there has been a segment of golfers who have been patiently awaiting their release. However, with each addition to the Apex line, they have been absent, until now.

The newest TCB iteration is a true Tour Cavity Back iron which is comprised of 1025 Carbon Steel and has a specially “tuned” 17-4 Stainless Steel “Tour” face design. Take a moment and think about that, if you want to know how Tour driven these irons are, the fact that Callaway Golf has melded those materials together should answer all your questions. These irons are built on precision with a shorter blade length than any other Apex iron as well as shaping which fits the eyes of their most discerning Tour staff.

Consistency, spin, feel, control, and accuracy are at the forefront with the Apex TCB irons, and that means they won’t be for everyone, in more ways than one. They are indeed a limited edition release from Callaway, with the exact number of sets unknown. Not only that, but they are raw irons, just like what Xander plays, which some like my crazy self will absolutely rejoice over, and others may not. In the end, these are unique irons, and a chance to play a major-winning iron set which they had little intention of releasing to the masses.

The Details
Callaway will be releasing the new Apex TCB irons today, 10/11/24. They will be offered in 4-10 (yes, the 10i is back again!) with True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 steel shafts as the standard offering. The irons will be available for $1505 ($205/stick) for the 7-piece set.
