Golf Balls Played On Tour
Scottie Scheffler – Titleist Pro V1
Despite being a TaylorMade ambassador Scottie is yet to make the transition with his golf ball. He still uses the Titleist Pro V1 as he has done his entire professional career and with the rate he is racking up trophies and Major Championships, it may be hard to convince him to switch.
Rory McIlroy – TaylorMade TP5x
McIlroy opts for the TaylorMade TP5x golf ball due to the fact it spins lower and also launches slightly lower than the TP5 model. He has switched straight into TaylorMade’s new 2024 model.

Wyndham Clark – Titleist Pro V1x
The Titleist Pro V1x is Titleist’s highest spinning tour golf ball which suits Wyndham Clark as a lower spin golfer.
“I play [Pro V1x] because it’s kind of the perfect combination for me of launch and spin. … I’m a low-spin player, I have a lot of speed, but I don’t spin the ball very much. And the Pro V1x, especially with my irons and driver, spins at the numbers that I want. Also, I think it’s great around the greens.”
Xander Schauffele – Callaway Chrome Tour X
Xander has swapped into Callaway’s brand-new Chrome Tour X for the 2024 season.
“It really checks all the boxes for me. It’s got a very stable flight off the tee. It maintains spin really well on half shots. It’s got great spin and feel around the greens. Maybe the most impressive thing about the ball, though, is its stability in the wind. It can be tricky to find a ball that performs so well with every club in the bag, but that’s exactly what Chrome Tour does.”
Jon Rahm – Callaway Chrome Soft X LS
Jon Rahm is known for his immense ball speeds so it is no surprise he is using Callaway’s firmest tour golf ball. This has more optimal spin characteristics that suit Rahm’s game.
Ludwig Aberg – Titleist Pro V1x
Aberg uses Titleist’s firmer Pro V1x golf ball model to complement the rest of this Titleist set-up.
“I like to put spin on the ball. I like to hit it a little bit higher to have a little bit of a different angle coming into the firmer greens that we play here on the PGA Tour. So I think the Pro V1x helps me with that and it helps me to be able to compete against the best players in the world.”
Viktor Hovland – Titleist Pro V1
Hovland has played the Titleist Pro V1 throughout his amateur and professional career and that doesn’t look like it is going to change anytime soon.
“I just always grew up with the Titleist Pro V1 feel and always loved it. There was not a thought in my head that occurred, ‘Oh, I should maybe try a different ball.’ Why would I? I was really happy with the consistency. I think there’s always been this consensus that you go in the pro shop and you buy a sleeve of balls, you’re going to get the same ball as the last time you bought the sleeve of balls. I think that consistency gives you that reassurance that you know what you’re going to get.”
