It’s been two years since three Mavrik game improvement irons we launched to market. This season we get one more as the Callaway Rogue ST irons are revealed…
Callaway Rogue ST irons: First Impressions
In a change from the norm the Pro irons in this range look strikingly different to the rest of the range. I really like this visual as it gives a clear distinction of this model being designed for the better player.
After this we see a very similar design language from the Max to the Max OS Lite, which is ideal as it means players are picking on performance rather than looks.
Callaway Rogue ST irons: The Line-up
Callaway Rogue ST Pro
These irons use hollow body construction technology with the aim to deliver the look and feel of a player’s iron and the distance and forgiveness of a game improvement iron.
Callaway Rogue ST Max
The Rogue ST Max irons are the longest in the range. They have refined game improvement shaping for golfers who want speed, forgiveness, and all-round performance.
Callaway Rogue ST Max OS
The Max OS model have wide soles, enhanced offset, and a thicker topline for confidence over the ball. The technology provides high launch and forgiveness for mid- to high-handicap players.
Callaway Rogue ST Max OS Lite
This is the largest iron in the range but also the most lightweight. Again we see wide soles, enhanced offset, and thicker toplines but also more loft, lighter shafts, and lighter swing weights. These are the easiest to hit models in the range.
Callaway Rogue ST irons: The Technology
To increase ball speed Callaway have combined their AI-designed “flash cup face” with high-strength 450 steel.
This means each model and loft has its own uniquely-designed club face to allow for high launch and COR as well as consistent spin rate across the face.
Inside the clubhead there is up to 62 grams of high-density tungsten which is precisely placed for optimal launch. This is a 260% increase in tungsten from the previous Mavrik model.
To improve feel there are urethane microspheres within the club face to absorb unwanted vibrations. This year they have been moved up higher in the face to enhance sound and feel without compromising on ball speed.
