If Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy teaming up to launch a business venture wasn’t already star-studded enough, just wait until you hear who’ve they’ve lured in as big-time investors.
Having already announced a stadium style golf series as part of their TMRW sports firm – Woods and McIlroy have now confirmed that an abundance of sporting legends and A-list celebrities will be buying into the enterprise, including tennis legends Serena Williams and Andy Murray, football superstar Gareth Bale, and Formula 1 GOAT Lewis Hamilton.
Mike McCarley, TMRW Sports’ CEO, said the investors have been brought on board to help “the mission to positively impact how sports are experienced in the future”.
The investment group Woods and McIlroy have attracted accumulatively boast 26 major championships, 21 Olympic gold medals, eight NBA Championship titles, 40 Emmy awards, and 10 Grammy awards – and that’s before we get to the 19 majors held between golf’s two biggest stars.
While that’s a whole lot of star power, it still remains unclear just how much money has been invested into the venture. Although judging by the group of names we’ve already seen, they all have a passion for golf. Here’s a list of some of the legendary sporting investors involved:
